the weedeating continues...

I'm gonna hit the girlscout camp sat morning early and try to finish it up. Anyone else up for it? I have 2 extra heavyduty husqy trimmers, string, gas, etc... The earlier we start the earlier we'll be done. I'll be out around 6:30 am.

Another thing, it has been suggested multi times to assign sections of trail to a certain person. If they get weedy, then it is the assigned's responsibility to gwet em into shape. If you want to be a part of this, please comment below and we'll get together and divvy out areas. The trail fairy is getting tired and needs our help.

Remember: if you have time to ride, you have time to help with the maintainence of where you ride. The trail hippie

With the number of volunteers we have locally this would mean we each have our own park to maintain, not a section of trail.

Lance,
Truer words have never been spoken. With my luck, I'll be responsible for Krug!!! Oh well, that's where I foresee doing a bunch of my riding in the future.

Speaking of Krug, Randy and I did some more weed'n tonight. Basically all the trails we are planning to use above the waterfall have been done with the exeption of a short tie in that we need from the old power line trail to the steep chute. We also got the re-routed section of the bridge trail by the waterfall done to the first bridge. There is one new side hill section in this area that will require a shitload of bench cutting so when the time comes we will need all the help we can get with it but it will definately be worth the effort.

I have 25 hours to throw at trailwork in the next couple of weeks. Buying a new trimmer early next week and plan to finish what Brian and Crook started at the GSC and then on to Krug.

Lance,
That's awesome about the time for trail work. What trimmer are you going to get? Just got a new Shindi T282... Like it but I would probably go with the Stihl FS110 or FS130 if I had it to do over (already broke the head attachment bolt)
It does handle the .130 string though which sure helps.

I may do a Echo SRM-230. I've always liked Shindaiwa equipment but the company has been merged into Echo. Effective in August there will be no more Shindaiwa. Stihl is a consideration just because they have so many dealers for parts & service but there units turn at 1-2000 RPm less than Shindaiwa/Echo which makes a huge difference speed wise in trimming long sections of trail.

Well I walked through both Corby north and south w/ weedeater this morning. I think I got the worst areas..some places didn't need anything done. I dropped the beast (weedeater) back w/ Shawn so you guys can use it tomorrow. Spiders are making their comeback I noticed this past week...ugh.
