Cross Course and Trails
Spenser took a shovel to the cross course to make it rideable... Good thing too with a race coming up on the 31st...
As far as the trails go, I am pretty sure they are nasty and muddy with these high temperatures and snow melt... I think the leafs are helping absorb some of the wetness but I would not ride them until it gets cold enough for the ground to freeze... Anyway...
Thanks again Spenser... And who is going to the CX race next week?
Still no sign of that niner under my tree!!! Damn it.....

Has Anybody Tried This One?
Has anybody gone cross-country, starting from the backside of the old water plant, up through that old quarry, across Sun Bridge, and into the backside of Camp Geiger before?
A couple of guys in the Bike Club did that a month or two ago and said it was a pretty nice ride - all up hill- and pretty rough. At Geiger they came out right behind their new shooting range. Supposedly 7 miles roundtrip.
The other story I heard is that you have to go through this trailer park down on the river and the owner is rough on trespassers. Of course, if you're jdoug he's going by so fast nobody would catch him. Me puffing along would warn him I was coming ten minutes before I got there.
Anyway, has anybody tried this route before? Sounds like it would be worth trying.

Boss Coss Pics...
Boss Cross 4 was fun, I think... My legs are sore like I did something anyway.. The course was actually tough. When we got there it looked like it was flat and boring, but all the hills were deceivingly hard and the sand sucked the life out of you... Did me anyway...
Here is Spencer on his second race, he did the ss and then cat 4... I think he used them as a warm up to ride 90mi home!!! Looks like ole Spenser is getting the hang of these things, getting much faster out there..

Hoppe, what the F*#K is that?!?!?! Spellman giving lessons on barrier jumping? Now if you hadn't won the whole damn series this would be quite the embarrassing pic.... Now that looks graceful there buddy... I will gladly give you some lessons!! As far as coming in last, I don't really have much to say on that matter... Yes, I finally broke the top 10!! 7 out of 7 in SS.... What can I say, I am an overachiever...
Nate is looking better... Keep at it!!

Hoppe on the right, got second in the race, first in the series... Gets all his entry fees waived for 2010!! Thanks for the shirt buddy!! Wore it yesterday already...
JP lookin like a pro!! I think its the yellow shoes....
I got the impression that JP was a little disappointed in his placing, but he looked strong to me..
All in all, it was a good day, the temperature stayed just above balls freezing to the saddle, but was cold enough that you had trouble breathing..
I am a little disappointed in my showing, but plan on getting back at it next time... Dec. 31st I think..
Fun riding with everyone, hope more can come out next time...

Boss Cross
BC4 Barry Platte Park 12/5!
It's that time again. Thanksgiving is over. We're all 5 pounds heavier than we were this time last week, and it's time to start thinking cross again. With only 4 more races on the local calendar we have to make each one count.
Boss Cross #4, the finale, is this Saturday 12/5 at Barry Platte Park. It's a killer venue that offers everything you want from a good cross course. Sand, rolling hills, lots of fast grass, some off camber descents, and some great paved sections. The park is really easy to get to. Take 1-69 north to the Barry Rd. Exit. Turn left and go 1/4 mile. Turn right on Old Stagecoach Rd. (signs pointing you toward park). The park is 2 blocks up on your left. Parking will be 1 block farther at Barry School. There is a sidewalk that goes straight to the park.
Registration opens at 9:00!
There are a lot of close races for the series. Remember, series winners will race for free in 2010!
10:00 A.M. Men 35+, 45+, 55+ 45 min
10:00 A.M. Women Open (1-4) 45 min
