Thursday riding and stuff
Mr. Crook and myself had a most excellent ride on the Corby trails and both Girlscout trails yesterday. A month of surfing has NOT helped my cycling fitness. I coughed hard once and Crook got a piece of lung stuck on his Oakleys. Andy Clements had the poles delivered to Krug. He also said he can get a bobcat to drag what we want where, but just maybe on a Friday afternoon. We need to know what we want where, have it cut and ready, and they will do the dragging. The nettles are already getting tall on North, as witnessed by my itching legs today. Weedeating is in our near future. Howsabout a Crowder trip on May 9th? That's a Sat I think. They have real showers and shitters for those of you with tender bums.Peace

Jethro, I'm in for the 9th. Anyone interested in weedeating Saturday the 2nd at Corby??
Not sure about the 9th for me as I would have to be home by 2:00pm... (Unless you guys want to leave really early)
Should be able to help weed eat on the 2nd... Meet at the Corby South parking lot at 7:00 am???
What... Did you guys just quit reading this blog or is the proposed weedeating scaring everyone off?
Did a lap with Jason tonight around the two Corbies and a couple more after he had to leave. Trails were suprisingly good (much better than the legs)
There are several areas that are really getting grown over though so any help this Saturday would really be appreciated. The more people we get the faster it gets done. It's not necessary to be there at 7:00 am, that's just when I plan to get started.

It scared me away buddy!
Yah... All the way to California!
Have fun

Don't worry, I will tip some back for you guys...
Reader response is just overwhelming... Is there anybody out there???
It may be difficult to get into the Corby trails to weed-eat on Saturday morning, since they will be lining up the parade there.

Parade is no big deal (unless you're in it or going to see it)
I plan to park up at the open field by Noyes School. I parked there Wednesday afternoon and got a good start on the weedeating at Corby South.
If that does'nt work out, you can always park by the tennis courts or at the trailhead to the GSC and just get started there.
Oh yah, in case anyone is wondering... It's not against the STJMTB bylaws to just go out on your own and pitch in with some trail work from time to time!

I feel so unsafe out there alone with just my 10 horse stihl 60 inch saw and a weedeater that'll cut stinging nettles down to size. It just doesn't seem like enough. Guess I better carry the nine! RT
Quit being such a girl... Take the 10 horse

Ignore that last comment... Forgot about the gun fetish. Duh
Did u get corby south completed? Brian
When I left at about 11:00 AM we had gotten from where the single track starts after the first field crossing (at Noyes school)to where the nasty little climb is over by the tennis courts. David was going to stay and keep going for a while from there. Not sure how far he got but I would say there might still be the section close to the pond through the end of the loop and from the start of the loop up to the first field crossing. We concentrated on the middle sections first as these were the most overgrown areas.
CH
The trails next to the pond is the only trail not completed. Maybe today I will get it.
David... The beginning section up to the first field crossing is not done either.
I blew off what we had weed eated this morning before I rode.
CH
David, what u meant to say was " I WILL get to it". Please don't make me edit your posts in the future. the professor hippie
I know someone with a nice 60 inch commerical Cub Cadet mower that could solve this problem? I heard that person can take 10 to 30 days off from work at a time. Can the hospital CEO or the boss at home, allow that person to do some trailwork this year?
David, you must have struck a nerve. Looks like the our local Stihl rep (and Jason) were out groovin with the heavy string. Trails are really looking sweet!
