by Doug Long on Tue Apr 05, 2011 8:43 amjust got off the phone with Curtis and have officially pulled the plug on "Lawrence River Trail Challenge". My apologies to all that were planning on opening the UFD reason at Lawrence on Saturday. Believe me, I wanted to be there also.
I should have cancelled this race a long time ago when I saw the effort that the promoter was putting into getting all the details completed. I guess there is a lesson to be learned here. It does take a lot of time and effort to promote a successful race and I guess I need to be a better judge of who will follow through in the future. FYI, if this promoter decides to reschedule this race to a latter date, it will not be a UFD race. His days as a UFD promoter are history!
Please help spread the word to any racers that you know may be traveling toward Lawrence. You might want to let them know about the Duathlon on Sunday.
I know Chris is looking forward to a great Bone Bender race on April 17th at Lawrence, and Doug Chambers is expecting a good crowd at Wilson Lake on May 1st.
