Krug, RIP & Tour of MO

OK, I fully intended to boycott the blog (take my ball and go home) because of the verbal abuse that I was taking about this whole weed-eating fiasco... After all, I am a sensitive fellow ;)_
Well, I did take a bit of an excursion out to Krug over the weekend to kill some time (avoid panting my house) and HOLY CRAP!!! If I was feeling a bit guilty for not putting my time behind a power-tool lately before I saw what all has been done, I sure as hell feel guilty now...
I was dumbfounded by the amount of work that has been done over there, you can't really comprehend it until you get out there and ride it... Awesome!!!!
I particularly like the creek crossings! It flows great, can't Wait to feel the burn while flying through there when there is some hard packed singletrack...
I did get a bit mixed up on top of the park around the "pine tree forest" area, so I never quite made it out where I was supposed to. But anyway, I just wanted to say bravo, nicely done, it looks wonderful...

On another note, RIP (Rapture in Misery) is August 15th, and will be here before you know it. I suggest getting as much saddle time in right now.. Its better to kick your own ass before the race than during! Which will probably be the case anyway, just a suggestion...

Owe, also, for those of you that care, the Tour of Missouri is back ON!!!

One more thing, Ed, I hear the kids bike races were awesome!!

Would 6 pm at Corby work with everyone?

I should be able to be there at 6pm. Might be finishing up my ride not starting.

Hey all...The real question is how much rain can Corby and Krug take without ruining the trails? It is raining buckets here tonight? I am in on Wed. night, Cameron Chambers is coming with me, so, could we ride at 6:30? Corby...Cam and I are bringing some lights...so we will be riding for a bit...If the trails are not rideable, please call me...913-378-8591 Wed. a.m., so we can change our training game plan.
I could make a trip up and ride the road earlier in the afternoon if the trails are not rideable. I have spoken to Adam W. and I believe he would be up for a road ride? Either way, I am coming to Joetown for some training on Wed., just not sure if it will be road or Mtn. bike...

Later,

JP

P.S.
Gary Mapes took the Sports Class 34 plus on Sunday in Emporia, for the first Team Win of the Year! It was a close race, 1st - 4th seperated by 1 min. after 1:40 min. of racing...Of course I missed the podium by 1 spot, so I was 4th by less than 30 seconds! Racing in Columbia, MO. this Sunday!

I have trimmed most of Corby North but there is still about 2 more hours of work to be done. I might be able to help out Wednesday as well. Brian

If we don't get any more rain, the trails are going to be fine.. They are draning quite well...
