I could not get the flyer to upload. You can find it here... http://bosscross.blogspot.com/

Hear the Shores Sports boys did well up in Iowa, heard the course was fantastic. If you guys got some pics let us know...
All I could find was this one of Hoppe.... This is what happens when you have cheep wheelsets!

I am actually thinking about doing two races at Boss Cross... Since the SS is only 30 min...

Hope you all got a good weekend of riding, I only saw one person while I was out...

Peeps!!

Thanksgiving is over, I have pussed out for any kind of riding today what so ever.. I think I am not the only one on that boat... However, we got some sunshine a head of us and hopefully some days off working.. Once the booze wears off (hopefully by the morning)... BTW this is my new addicti0n, JP, can we get a sponsor from New Belgium, that would be nice.....Think I am going to go skinny tires (cyclocross) tomorrow.. Any takers let me know...

More importantly I think it will be a great time to get a group MTB ride in on Saturday!!!! I am in some dire need to get back to my roots and get some fat tire dirt lovin in... I suggest we meet at Croby Parking lot and ride everything...
Croby S. Then N. then girl scout, Brownie, and Kurg! Flippen awesome.. don't think you can ride all of them, no worries, just come out and have fun, you know where your car is... It would be badd ass if we get a good group together..
Plan on meeting in the a.m. so you still have your day when you get back.. just let me know..
Three more things: (I know I am too analytical with the numbering and all but I can not help it, I apologize)

  1. Jimbo, shoot us over that site you got the new MTB race info from...
  2. Good luck to JP an who ever else from Shores Sports who is going to Jingle Cross!! Take some pics and be sure to post how it went...
  3. Got a little feedback about my last post... Some of the hardcore think I got soft or something... Sooooo... coming soon, a post on what us (racin, hardcore, masochistic fools, OBSESSED WITH BEING fast freaks) really motivates us and goes through our heads when it comes to diggen deep.. AKA doing whatever it takes to get fast and kick someone elses ass!!(Hell I got it bad and I am new and ait proved shit yet) So, I might not be the authority, but have a damn good insight...
Its been a while since I have been on fat tires and all, hopefully I still remember!!!

This is for those who aint going to come out riding... Javie, Rusty, its time to get off your damn road bikes and come play with the boys in the dirt!! That does for all the rest of you that I missed too (sorry), Bob, Nate, Billy, Bob, Brad, Derek, Jon, Rui, Dereck, Greg, Summer, Tim, Tim #2, I know there are an ass load I am forgeting (all you f-ers that can go on a pub crawl but not a tril ride)

T. Garv, I will bring beer if that helps!!! I know you have an mtb.... Come out have fun... SAT!!This picure is dedicated to the f-ing hippy! You know your in the right place when you are working on your bike and you see this poster 8'x4'...Bad ass... Lets get dirty!!!

Man, this got long, I babble, oops...

Gonna post cuz no one else will......

  1. Cyclocross is badd ass!!! We have a make shift course out behind corby S. I timed it and basically you are going to have to run about 10 laps out there (non stop) to be competitive in cat 4.... Who cares really though.. F it... Have fun

  2. Let me let you in on a secret.... Its about pushing and competing against yourself.. Becoming a stronger better person than you thought you were... At the start line, you always ask yourself why am I doing this, but at the end your ALWAYS happy you did it..Nothing else matters, (so how you place really does not matter) its all about the experience... All I know is that you will be a better person after you race than before.. I don't know how to explain it better than that, you either get it or you don't... Just do it....

  3. Who the f**** is in charge of cleaning up Krug after the Halloween things? There is shit everywhere.. Its been 0ver a month now and there is crap all over the place up top... Ed,who do we talk to? Or do we have to clean up after them?.....

  4. We got an awesome week to ride coming up Thanksgiving week... Lets ride.. When do you want to roll beeoches?

Found another picture of Hoppe... This is how he likes to roll... Balls out!!!

this is the hippy in his early years... Innovator, yes... We owe a lot to this fella... In case you did not know, he was the inventor of the first 109er.... (as seen below)

Lovely day for a CX race!!!

Finally! Got some rain and mud for a CX race.. That's the reason I even wanted to do this shit in the first place.... Although, when we went (cat 4) it really was not all that bad yet.. Well, for everyone but Hoppe who apparently lost his bike handling skills...
Here is BoB B. Rooting us on! Pretty cool, I love it you little freak... Bob Fitz came out to cheer us on also. They were all a bit disappointed when they found out you can't buy booze in KS on Sundays!
Here is a pic of Hoppy.... He rolled up to the start right next to me. We started the Cat 4 on the cobbles which were very slick.. About the time I thought to myself "someone is going to bite it on these things".. I see Hoppe get a mouth and shoulder full of wet cobblestone. As he was sliding across the ground he about took me with him... Luckily I stayed rubber side down (Hoppy, its called skllz beeoch)....
Jim passed me twice on the first lap (yes he was counting), seen here climbing the hill the rest of us had to run. Not in a granny gear as he tells us, but I have my suspicions...
JP, went after us, right when the course started to get nasty.. A lap later we see him hobbling up the hill like an old man.. (No offense Jim) He tweaked his hamstring, hope you get to feeling better before Boss Cross buddy.. I know those can be nagging...
Spencer getting dirty!
Now Nate, we all love the fact you came out, but you got to try and ride that shit buddy!!
Jimbo again..
Nate, you have to do better than this attempt. I guess, do as I say, not as I do... Made it up it the last two laps however...
Spencer getting muddy, his second race was when the course started getting really nasty... I think Bob B got a good pic of him after the race, just covered..
There should be more pics posted later... All and all, two of us JP and Hoppe hurt themselves, I had a good race, best placing yet... Top 10 is coming up next...
Derek B came with us, but could not find a pic of him... Looks like everyone had fun...
Not sure when the next races are... What I have found there are some on 12/5, 1/3/10 & 1/10/10...
If anyone knows of any more, please post for us.. These damn things are a blast! Jim even said to me he likes these better than XC races: Thats a bold statement buddy!

Shipman in da house

After finishing doing some laps with my two boys, we met John & Jeff Shipman. They are fairly new in town and going to school at MWSU. They are young and already accomplished cyclists. They expressed interest in mtb with others and also helping out with trail maint/building. Below is their contact info... so make them feel at home boys.
PS... hope you guys had fun at the CX race today.

Platte City CX Pics

Here's some pics from Boss Cross 3 in Platte City
Course was fun but difficult by CX standards with a pretty fair amount of climbing, soft ground and few muddy spots to navigate.
The cat 4 35 plus race was early so I did that one while Randy, Nate, David and Brad did the regular cat 4 so I was able to get these pics. Nate had some early race chain problems and DNF'd so unfortunately I did'nt get any pics of him

Cameron Chambers showing the open class how to ride a single speed

Cameron and JP checking out the Joetown recruits during the Cat 4 race

Brad and David battling it out on the climb

Randy navigating the off camber stuff

Brad dismounting for the barriers

David doin his thing thru the barriers

Randy steppin it up

Brad transitioning back to the pavement

Ditto for David

....and Randy

Brad powering through the climb... same for David and Randy in the next ones

Brad approaching the off camber section

The dynamic dual just out for a typical Saturday ride!

Randy through the barriers

Brad through the same section

David leading the out the Joetown boys early

Randy shouldering his bike, actually passed the dude in front
of him on foot... Pretty impressive from my perspective

Start of the Cat 4 Race
Great racing guys, hopefully we can get a good group out for the races next weekend!
