UFD- Tour De In the Middle of Nowhere KS

After days of contemplation the Tour De Lizard in Arkansas City is way to far for me to go and race with a baby ready to pop out in a couple of weeks.. Looking at mapquest it shows 4 hours and 46 min drive with a Cat 2, 10:15 start time.

Kind of a bummer, being only 2 points in the lead of the UFD Cat 2 series. I am so close to winning the series I can literally taste it… If one of the top 4 guys race, I will most likely be too far behind to make up any points at the KC Cup…. Rather a bitter pill to swallow, being so close to a goal and not being able to compete…

However If my little one would be born without me I don’t know that I could live with myself, so all in all there will always be other races, other goals on a bike… Nothing is worth risking the missing of the birth of the 2030 National XC Champion!

Best of luck to all that are going to be racing…. JP, GMapes….

Anyone riding this weekend????

Good choice!!!! There will be tons of more races, the births of both of my children are days I will never forget.
I had plans on going but work, and the fact Im sitting in St. Lukes with my stepdaughter right now is why I wont be there.

I would be lying if I said I am not a little happy you won't be making it out there.... ;-)

the good news is that If JP can win he will steal some points from your competetion, and also this race is part of the Oklahoma series so some of those top dogs will be stealing points also. For me I'm gonna do it marathon style and then next week I'm gonna ride through the pain in the Cat 1's, Uhhgg.

Great Job G Mapes! 2nd place in the Marathon with what I have heard from local racers and Epic Crash! I on the other hand was at home Sunday Hacking up a lung! Finally have a few days of antibiotics in me and did my first workout since Friday today. No racing for me until the 26th and it is all Cross from this point forward...I will also be in St. Joe Sunday doing some laps at the new Cross course thanks to Randy T.!

Off to Virgina for meetings tomorrow.
Later,
