Krug Bad Shape

Jim was right. I had an hour to ride on Sat before company arrived and I chose Krug. While the trails were in great shape, nearly all of the bridges were out, or badly damaged. One of the few bridges that had survived had been mangled by a 4-wheeler so it could cross at the bottom of the down hill chute. Most of the bridge planks have been washed away... The bridge trail is now a water crossing trail and is not worth riding until the bridges are rebuilt.

Might try to contact the Parks dept to see if they are willing to help out, but I'm not counting on it. Does anyone have a contact in the Parks Deppt that would be open to providing some city resources for repair of this great section of trail?

Sorry I didn't post the Sat AM ride, it was a quick-eee.

BTW... Happy Mothers Day

I wanted to leave a post but I couldn't figure out how to do it on here. I'm from KC and come up to ride your trails last night at Corby. We thought they were awesome. You guys did a good job on the ones north of the parkway. Also we just loved all of them. It was an excellent ride. Can't wait till the north ones get packed down. We'll be back soon.
Also please help me figure out how to post on here.

Hey Tybone!!!

We are so glad you enjoyed the trails. There are some really dedicated folks around here that spend a lot of time working the trails. I will speak for all of them when I say it is worth it to have someone else enjoy them too.

Keep coming back. We have plans for more trails that connect to the North section at Corby. We are also trying to figure out how to remediate the damage at Krug from the storms.

Also feel free to post something next time you are in town, and you might be accompanied by a local contingent that can show you the best flowing loops at some of these trails.

We are still working on getting maps together for each trail system. Actually this is on my plate, but I am kind of behind schedule.

Over-and-out.

It would be nice to know a good flowing loop. I'll be sure and post.

We are working on putting maps of the trails together. We are also working on getting ahold of some signage that will direct folks through the trails. Should be done by the end of the season...
