progress at Krug

Randy, Craig, Lance and I are making progress at Krug. I think the section Craig cut is about .1 miles by the look of it and the new section on the south side of the parking lot is .3 miles giving us close to a half mile of new trail. I estimate that I have another 3/4 of a mile flagged so that means another 1.25 miles added to the 5.5 mile existing loop. I hope we will have an 8 mile loop at the end of fixing Krug. I think Lance is working on the trails Saturday, let me know if anyone needs to borrow the equipment. We already have several contributers for new equipment, the city and everyone else is really supportive of what we are doing.

Is anyone going to be working on the trails Sunday? if so post a time! Cold, muddy and wet are just the right conditions!

I'LL be up there about 8:30 or so. It was a cold sloppy mess today, but I did set my fastest time on the 1st section of Corby North......1 min 41 secs. Please don't let this time kill your morale or otherwise dissuade you from trying to better yourself. Hang in there sunshine! The sloppyseconds hippie.

I'll be up at the top of Krug past the Jurassic Park rocks at the end of the long parking lot and at the beginning of the main trail down to the waterfall. RT

I was just thinking today while running the saw about all the excuses I've heard over the years why someone didn't show for a planned trailwork day. I've heard more excuses than a cop giving out speeding tickets! Now here is mine...I was just informed that I'll be going to Iowa for a late T-giving feast that was originally planned for next weekend, but because the kids are here this weekend, well, there you have it. To only increase the suffering, we are having prime rib. the my-tummy-hurts hippie

so are we still meeting? whose going to be there? i'll show if others do, but my chainsaw skilz aren't good enough to be out there alone, i'm liable to lose a hand or my manhood or something... wonder what 'chainsaw kenny' is up to these days?

I am planning on hiking part of Krug about 8-8:30. I will just be throwing stuff off the trails and trimming with my machette and pack saw. Jim S.

I was up there on Sunday Morning for a few hours. I just walked the rerouted trail and started triming some of the switch backs down to the water fall. Pretty slow going with a machette and folding saw. But it was very quiet and pretty! JS
