heartland race for next year

I spoke to Craig at Heartland Race he says that they are pumped to have us next year. We next talked about what kind of race, enduro or XC we are throwing it around. I talked to Cameron Chambers who said he wanted to come up and ride the new trails.

I think it would be a great time to show off our 'new' Krug course.

Any thoughts on what a start/finish would look like at GSC? Randy and I were kind of kicking it around, and neither of us had any ideas that made a shit of sense.

Would it be possible to have the start/finish line at the open area between the GSC and Genefield?
We could tie in a new starting trail and a new finishing trail at this location. We might still be able to use the current starting and finishing locations of the GSC to tie in with the Brownie kind of midway into the GSC loop. Also I think it might be possible to extend the Brownie trail if we get a little creative.
I personally think that the GSC is easily the best trail in St. Joe and with the addition of the Brownie and it's rocky and "off camber" sections, the entire combined loop would be a hit with everyone.

I agree with CHopp.. If we could make it work, that would be a great staging area...

And XC you fools... Looks like someone, I wont mention names (owns a bike shop) is pumped about enduros or something..

Thats the only way I can win is to wait for everyone to lose interest over a large number of hours. Maybe GSC would be good if we expanded more trail to the other side of the road and took off of the brownie along the road in the middle. Then up the road down the opposing trial (not yet built behind the houses) then out on the road up to the spot where we jump back on the brownie. The new trail can start almost at lovers lane then pop out down by the s curve adding about 2 miles with the road up and back. Parking and staging for the race down at the pool then run everyone up the road to start then onto brownie where we split it to come back from the opposite side trail with race finish on the road. What does everyone think about this? are we going to have the man power to build this and fix Krug this winter? Krug needs to be ready for the following year it should be rocking by then.

Sorry guys, I meant to say the area between the GSC and Lovers Lane in my scenario (my mistake just dawned on me after reading Shawn's post)although Shawn's ideas sound promising also but more realistic for a X country event. I would think for an enduro you would want a loop closer to 9 or 10 miles.
I'd even be up for something at Krug as I may be one of the few remaining fans of the original trails up there. I realize they may not have the ultimate design for drainage and what not but all in all they are still some pretty kick ass trails!!
As I have been out of the scene for quite some time, you can take my ideas for whatever they may be worth (maybe not all that much?)

Krug still has a special place in my heart. A get on your hands and knees and squeel like a pig sort of special. Even still, the Burt Reynolds in me says I can make Krug my bitch again some day.

I plan on going sometime in the AM, but don't know if I can be tied down to a specific time. Call when you are free and I'll try to make it.

Well, let me know.. As long as it is not too early...

Also, I was thinking along the lines of Nacy K., I mean CHoppe... The staging area just on the opening that is already there.. I think expanding and moving onto the other side of the road, etc. etc. might be trying to force it.. You know?

If it does not work now (or with a little improvement), just do corby again.. If it aint broke don't fix it...

Just my thoughts, you have my support no matter what everyone decides...
